Biography:

A Texas native, born and raised in McAllen, Texas, Jesse Gonzalez has settled in the McAllen area and established the J. Gonzalez Law Firm.

With roots as a migrant farm worker, for seventeen years while growing up Jesse Gonzalez traveled north to Minnesota, helping his family make ends meet. Early on, he discovered the hardships of the underprivileged and saw how they were subjected to large company injustices. A lack of both financial ability and knowledge resulted in their not understanding their rights, or their recourse to hiring an attorney.

Mr. Gonzalez began his professional career in 1990 where he taught until 1997 in the La Joya I.S.D., which is a large school system serving the Rio Grande Valley in education from elementary schools through high schools. Mr. Gonzalez graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American in 1992, followed by acquiring a Masters Degree in Education in 1995. Since beginning his teaching career through his present law career, he has been very involved in serving his local community and understanding the needs of the underprivileged, and people that have historically been underrepresented in the Rio Grande Valley.

Mr. Gonzalez continued his studies at the University of Innsbruck in Austria. He also studied the origins of English common law at Oxford University in Oxford, England, which is well known as the foundation for our laws here in the United States. During his second year in law school, he interned under Federal Judge Prado in San Antonio, Texas and received his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2000.

Attorney Jesse Gonzalez dedicates his practice to serving the needs of the underrepresented and underprivileged in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas by providing excellence in legal representation and assisting clients throughout the area.
