Burn wounds and personal injury cases
Car accident victims who suffer burn injuries face an incredibly long and challenging road to recovery. Burns are extraordinarily painful, they cause life-long disfigurement, and they can lead to great mental anguish for victims and their families.
Types of burn Injuries
Most people associate serious burns with fire, but there are actually several types of burn injuries. The three most-common types of burn injuries are:
- Thermal – Thermal burns are caused by hot air, surfaces, the sun, or fire. They most often happen in workplaces such as an oil and gas refinery or factories where fires can break out.
- Electrical – Electrical burns occur when an individual comes in contact with a live current. Electric shocks can cause internal damage, and burns to the skin.
- Chemical – Many chemicals can cause a reaction that damages skin. Some of the most common burn-causing chemicals include ammonia, bleach, and chlorine.
