3 Injured and 1 Deceased After Crash In Cherokee County

On Tuesday, November 2nd, at around 3:30 P.M., two vehicles collided on FM 855 in Cherokee County, Texas.

The crash occurred about 5 miles north of Cuney. The 22-year-old driver of a car was traveling west on an eastbound lane of FM 855 while the 46-year-old driver of a van was driving eastbound.

According to investigators at the scene, both drivers took evasive maneuvers, causing them to collide into each other. The car ended up off the road against a barbed wire fence while the van came to a stop on the shoulder of the westbound lane.

The 22-year-old lone driver of the car was pronounced dead. The driver of the van and their passengers were taken to a hospital in Tyler having suffered serious injuries.

The crash is currently under investigation.
