Brownsville man dies in motorcycle crash

BROWNSVILLE — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reports a Brownsville man was killed in a motorcycle crash on January 29.
A DPS news release said the accident happened around 12:22 a.m. on FM 1732 east of New Carmen Avenue in Brownsville. A preliminary investigation revealed a black/gray 2024 Suzuki motorcycle, operated by a male rider, was traveling east on FM 1732 when it veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole.
The rider, identified as 39-year-old Juan Pablo Oropeza Bellavia, died from his injuries at the scene.
