Hidalgo County patrol unit involved in chain reaction crash

EDINBURG — The Edinburg Police Department is investigating a chain reaction crash that involved a truck, a motorcycle, and a Hidalgo County patrol unit.

According to information from Edinburg police and the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened September 21 at the intersection of FM 1925 (Monte Christo Road) and McColl Road.

Authorities say the three-vehicle accident started when a truck hit a motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to crash into the patrol unit. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The patient’s condition was not immediately known.

The Edinburg Police Department, which is investigating the accident, has not released the names of the drivers involved in the crash.
